What Does a Warehouse Worker Do?
Warehouse workers keep distribution centers, fulfillment operations, and manufacturing facilities running. Depending on the facility, a warehouse worker might pick and pack orders, receive and sort incoming shipments, load and unload trucks, operate material handling equipment, or support production lines on an assembly floor.
No two warehouse jobs are exactly alike — the tasks depend on the employer and the shift. But the core of the role is the same: keeping product moving accurately and on time.

What It's Like to Work a Warehouse Job
Schedule and Shifts
Most warehouse facilities run multiple shifts. Inergroup places workers on 1st shift (typically 6am–2pm or 7am–3pm), 2nd shift (2pm–10pm or 3pm–11pm), and in some locations, 3rd shift overnight. Weekend shifts and 4-day/10-hour schedules are common at distribution centers.
Pay and Benefits
Warehouse pay rates vary by location, role, and facility — but Inergroup positions consistently offer competitive hourly wages and weekly pay. You get paid every week, not every two weeks. Some positions also include attendance bonuses and opportunities for overtime. Inergroup also offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, and 401K.
Physical Requirements
Warehouse work is active. Most roles involve standing for the majority of your shift, lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, and moving throughout a large facility. Steel-toed boots or safety shoes are required at most sites. Inergroup will let you know exactly what to expect before your first day.
Experience Required
Many of Inergroup's warehouse positions are entry-level and do not require prior warehouse experience. For roles involving forklifts or specialized equipment, certification or prior experience is typically required. If you're new to warehouse work, a general warehouse associate or packer role is a great starting point.
